Route Planner

The built-in route planner in TheraTap calculates the optimal route for your home visits and barn appointments. With one click, all of today’s patient addresses are opened in Google Maps in chronological order.

One Click Is All It Takes

Calculate the route, Google Maps opens — done. No manual address entry required.

Google Maps Integration

The complete daily route is opened directly in Google Maps — usable as navigation on your smartphone.

Smart Logic

Duplicates are removed, appointments are sorted chronologically, and only appointments with a stored address are included.

Ideal for Home Visits

Perfect for mobile therapists with barn and home visits — saves time and mileage.

  1. Open the calendar

Navigate to the Calendar in TheraTap. Make sure that appointments with patients are scheduled for today.

  2. Calculate route

Click the Calculate Route button in the calendar header.

  3. Google Maps opens

TheraTap automatically collects all patient addresses from today’s appointments and opens Google Maps with the complete route in a new tab.

The route planner uses the following logic:

  • Today’s appointments only — Only appointments for the current day are included
  • Only appointments with patients — Appointments without an assigned patient are skipped
  • No duplicates — If a patient has multiple appointments on the same day, the address is included only once
  • Chronological order — Addresses are sorted in the order of the appointments

  • Schedule appointments chronologically: Create your appointments in the desired order so the route follows the optimal driving path.
  • Use the horse’s location: For horses, the barn location is used — make sure to store the barn address for the patient, not the owner’s address.
  • Check in the morning: Calculate the route in the morning before you head out. This way, you have the complete daily plan as navigation on your smartphone.

  • Patient addresses stored — Addresses must be entered for the patients
  • Appointments linked to patients — Appointments must be assigned to a patient
  • Google Maps — The route is opened in Google Maps (alternatively in the Google Maps app on your smartphone)
